Taking Personal Responsibility In YOUR Home Business
It is often said that you can not know where you are going without knowing where you have been. I believe this statement should say "you can not know where you are going until you take Responsibility for where you have been" . It is much easier to blame others for your circumstances then take a long hard look at yourself. You see, it is you who made all the decisions, both good and not so good, that have lead you to where you are right now. You would not blame others for the success you have had in the past, so why in the world would blame others for your failures?
When you are looking to start a new home based business, it is all too easy to come up with a handful of excuses why any given opportunity you look at will not work for you. The most popular are; "Home based businesses never work" or "That business costs too much money, it must be a scam". More than likely these objections surface immediately and prevent you from ever finding out exactly what the proposed business entails. When you look to blame, you release your personal power to make your own decisions and you will never truly move forward in your life. The quickest and most effective way to change this is to take personal responsibility for you actions and your past. By doing so you allow yourself to move forward, and give yourself the opportunity to take chances and make mistakes. It is through mistakes that you grow, but only if you know it was you who made the mistake and do not blame others.
Finding success in a home business is no different. You must be open to possibilities and opportunities. When you do find the right business you will be walking into uncharted territory. This territory will be filled with highs and lows, great feats and brutal failures. It is all part of being a business owner. Too truly prosper in this new territory you must be willing to pat yourself on the back for you accomplishments and hold yourself accountable for your mistakes. Every mistake you make will offer an opportunity to learn and gain the knowledge you require to become successful.
When you consistently take responsibility for all of your actions you will become very confident in everything that you do. Confidence will give you the power to keep moving forward into new uncharted territory and find the kind of success you only dreamed possible. |
