What is all this Web 2.0 Stuff I keep hearing about???
Really, what is Web 2.0 and why is it important to anyone who makes a living on the internet?
I ignored it for a long time, and by doing so I passed up literally thousands and thousands of potential earnings. Sufficed to say, I am not ignoring it any more. Rather I embrace it in my daily internet marketing practices. Not too long ago Google spent $1.65 Billion (yes billion) to purchase You Tube, so if your thinking this Web 2.0 stuff is not important or is just a passing trend, think again.
So let's find out exactly what Web 2.0 is and is not , and how you can exploit it to earn serious money on the internet. First of all, you are probably engaged in Web 2.0 activity already and don't even know it. Do you use sites such as You Tube or My Space, what about Face Book? Even if you don't you probably have herd of them. The definition of web 2.0, according to Wikipedia: “ is a term describing the trend in the use of World Wide Web technology and web design that aims to enhance creativity, information sharing, and, most notably, collaboration among users. These concepts have led to the development and evolution of web-based communities and hosted services, such as social-networking sites, wikis, blogs, and folksonomies”.
Basically, Web 2.0 is empowering just about anyone to get their content, be it written, audio, or video, on the internet. Not only can anyone get their content on the net, it is extremely easy to do so. Look at You Tube, all you have to do is shoot some video with your cell phone or digital camera, then upload it. You don't have to know any complicated HTML or PHP programming code. My Space is the same, the user has an easy interface to publish their thoughts, images ect….
All of this is great, but really what does it have to do with making money on the internet? Well, to but it bluntly, EVERYTHING! You see, the major search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN…..) love new content. These search engines are indexing all of these Web 2.0 pages at the top of almost all searches. Try it out, go to Google and search for anything, see what comes up.
This is where the power is, if you can learn how to embrace Web 2.0 and how to use it to your benefit, you can start getting unlimited FREE traffic to any web site. Are you catching on here?
